Gregory J. Zipfel, M.D.

Gregory J. Zipfel, M.D., is an associate professor of neurological surgery and neurology. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School and completed a neurological surgery residency at the University of Florida. He was a post-doctoral research fellow in neurology at Washington University School of Medicine and completed a cerebrovascular and skull base surgery fellowship at the University of Miami.
Dr. Zipfel’s clinical interests include the surgical treatment of cerebrovascular disease and complex tumors of the skull base. His research focuses on understanding basic mechanisms and developing novel therapeutics for cerebrovascular pathophysiology and cognitive impairment associated with central nervous system disorders such as cerebral amyloid angiopathy, aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage and ischemic brain injury.
