The colored tiles moving across the screen represent changing representation of a subject's brain signals as taken with an EEG. When users see patterns that they feel they can reliably alter the person can then take those features and co-opt them for the control feature of their choice. This method allows the individual to more easily identify brain signals that can be used for control and bypasses the constraints inherent with screening for a control feature.
